SOBRENA redelivers Giant Offshore Barge
Thrusters after overhaul
While CASTORO SEI, world's
largest Pipe Laying Barge, was in Rotterdam for winter lay-up,
SOBRENA got the order for the complete overhaul of it four thrusters
units (90 T each).
Fastened on a barge, they arrived on tow in Brest late november
2001, they were stripped down in SOBRENA's Mechanic Workshop
and rebuilt under the supervision of the maker's specialist.
After
reassembly and preliminary tests, all 4 thrusters were lifted
down on the ocean going barge. They left Brest on tow on 8 march
2002
Three brittany Ferries's vessels dock
at SOBRENA
Between 3 january and 11 march, SOBRENA docked
BARFLEUR, DUC DE NORMANDIE and VAL DE LOIRE.
Each vessel stayed in the yard for approximately
20 days for survey and normal routine maintenance.
All three vessels have docked several times
in Brest in the past.
60 T steel repair
Following to collision in the Schelde River
near Vlissingen, SOBRENA got the contract for the repairs of
LOWLANDS YARRA, managed by Euroship (London).
The
vessel arrived 5 january and left the Yard on 25 january 2002
